Personal Statement

I want to play basketball at a Division I-III or Junior College to major in Sports Medicine. I am looking for a school that thrives on academics first and sports second. I want to attend a school that will not only prepare me for a career in Sports Medicine but also give me a strong foundation once I exit and go out into the working force.

Athletically I am a strong team player, a leader, and place my team before myself. My focus is mainly on the defensive side of the ball. On the offensive end I am a strong and smart competitor. I can create space for myself off of the dribble and attack the basket strong. I am a streaky 3-point shooter, but am a solid mid-range shooter. I am a good and willing passer and a solid rebounder. I am a strong athlete and play with great respect and discipline, and have a great knowledge of the game. To stay in shape I am in training and involved in sports year round.

I am a well-rounded individual with a great personality, get along well with others, and make friends easily. I am a leader and pride myself in others looking up to me. I like to have fun and laugh but when it is time to be serious and take care of business I have no problem making that transition. I have donated time my Freshman year as well as this year at the Akron-Canton Food Bank as well as the Cuyahoga National Park in Cleveland, OH.

Academically, I am and have always taken advanced courses of study maintaining at least a 3.0 or higher currently holding a 3.5 GPA. I have currently obtained some college credits through Stark State College. I am involved in a college readiness program Upward Bound Math-Science through Stark State College.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
