Personal Statement
My name is Darweshi Hunter and I attend Princeton High School. My collegiate goal and aspirations are to attend college on a basketball scholarship and graduate with a degree in business. I would also like to win a NCAA Basketball Championship.
I believe that I would be a good candidate for your team because I am a good shooter, passer, and a great defensive player. I have great court awareness and I strive to make my teammates better.
Off the courts, I work extremely hard to build and support the community around me. I volunteer my time helping children on their basketball skills through the Bitty Ball Program. Secondly, I assist in preparing meals for children through Feed My Starving Children organization. Lastly, I volunteer some on my time at a local school, helping where there is a need.
On the courts, I possess many skills that would greatly benefit your basketball team. For example, I am attentive and communicate effectively both on and off the court: I collaborate well with everyone on my team; and I have a strong awareness on the court, allowing me to make tough decisions in the midst of games and assist my teammates whenever needed. I am proud of my achievements as an athlete. This past year, my personal best in scoring at Gilbert Christian High School was 29 points and 10 assists. Last year, I earned 32 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals while playing AAU basketball. I am continuously working to improve my overall performance.
I currently have a 4.0 GPA and I am striving to increase my GPA to a 4.1 or higher. I have a strong work ethic and I am determined to overcome any obstacles in my academic and athletic journeys. While I am passionate about basketball, I am just as passionate about education and achieving success in every aspect of my life.
For these reasons, I am confident that I will be an excellent candidate to any basketball team.
