Mason Schneider '18 Recruiting Profile

Since fall of 2014, I've been fortunate enough to make the all-star team or all-tournament team in each event I've played in.  As a freshman, I started on the Greeneview Varsity Basketball team, and led the team in rebounds, field goal percentage, blocked shots (average 4.4/game), and am second in points.  I was the only freshman selected to all conference (Honorable Mention- Ohio Heritage Conference).  On February 15,2015, I recorded a triple double in an important conference win (12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 blocks).  I also broke a long-standing school record for total number of blocks in a single season (101).

I started all games on my AAU team, All Ohio Red, and we won the Ohio state AAU championship this year.  PrepHoopsOhio has me ranked at #12 overall in the state of Ohio, and #6 at the PF position.  I also made their 2nd team all state selection.  NextUpRecruits has me ranked in the top 25 in Ohio.

As an academic student I crave knowledge because I want a better understanding of how the world works. As a student of the game of basketball I am the same way, I just want to keep on learning more and more so I can improve my game. I set high goals for myself, I love the challenge of trying to reach a goal almost as much I love completing the goal itself. I will continue to work hard on all aspects of my game, and every chance I get I'm going to show up and show out on the court. I have a thirst for better and better competition. I have this thought in my head that I can play at any level. It's this thought that drives me, I'll think to myself yeah that guy's got some real talent I'd love to guard him. Put me on any stage with a basketball and I'll be there having the best time but working my hardest all the while. I'm ready for anything.
