Tre Munson '22 Recruiting Profile

I'm Tre Munson and I'm not your average point guard!

I believe that God has a plan for me. He has blessed me with a humble character, leadership, many talents and strengths to take on any challenge. I am a strong student athlete!  I work hard every day on my athletic basketball ability and strive for great grades to take me to my goal, the next level, Division 1 college basketball. I take pride in every aspect, by breaking down details in workouts and watching film at the next level and my own games. I know that school is the most important thing and I always keep my GPA above 3.5.

I possess a strong humble leadership style and personality skills which I work to develop everyday which will take me to the highest of my potential. I am goal driven. My personal goals are harder than any goals that are put upon me by someone else. I try to help as many people as I can; whether it be in sports or academics and am involved in my community by mentoring younger students through service activities. I love to help younger kids gain confidence in their jump shot just as I do, and to get quick handles. I like to have kids look up to me, so I can be the example. I know doing these types of things will separate myself from the average student. “To be different” is my motto which I feel separates myself from the average student athlete.

I'm very grateful to play basketball in high schol. My high school coach played D1 college basketball and beyond, so he pushes me every day because he knows my college and pro goals and what it takes to get to that level. This past season I was a Varsity starter, selected 1st team All-Conference Cincinnati Hills League (CHL), selected Southwest Ohio District Honorable Mention and CHL All-Academic Team. (3.7/4.0 GPA).  We were just a few steps from bringing home a State Championship, but the season was cut short due to Coronavirus.

I have great court vision. I can see a double team happening and get a great assist to my teammates. I also have a great pull up jumper and 3-point shot. I can shoot while contested and once I hit a lot, I will utilize the pump fake and " I'm just unable to be guarded" as one of my old coaches stated all the time. I am a pretty fast athlete, with great speed in transition getting from end to end that I use to my advantage to create problems and put pressure on opponents.  On the other side of the ball I am a lockdown defender, tough and scrappy with defensive toughness and high intensity. As a leader in the locker room, I like to have a great personality and form trust with the entire team, like my teammates, coaches, trainers and just be respectful to whoever even if you don't know them.

Lastly, I believe what sets me apart from other student athletes is my humble character and WORK ETHIC.  I am just not satisfied.  I believe there is always more to learn, more to work, more to reach and more to accomplish. My goals are to be one of the best to ever do it in the NBA.
