Personal Statement
I became interested in sports at a young age when I both played and watched them with my family. I’ve played organized baseball, football, lacrosse, and track, but by middle school, basketball became my favorite sport. Playing basketball has shown me lot of things about myself. Starting varsity as a freshman taught me how to play new roles within the team and how to handle big situations as a young player. I learned how to fit my skills into a team situation where I was not the best player on the court. As I continue my high school career, I hope to help younger players contribute to the success of our program. I feel very fortunate that the upperclassmen that I played with in my freshman year accepted me as a teammate and helped me grow as a player.
Some other things that have influenced me include my family, friends, and my community. They have all had positive influences on me and made me a better person. Academically, I plan to spend the remainder of my high school years studying business management and I am fully committed to raising my GPA. I look forward to attending a good college and I am currently thinking of majoring in criminal justice and working in law enforcement. I'm looking for a basketball program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I have the work ethic and talent to play at the college level and I am committed working everyday to improve my game.
