Personal Statement
I consider myself a leader. I’m mentoring the younger classmen joining my schools program this year. During my training sessions, I coach them on basketball fundamentals. I've built strong connections with my teammates and thrive on helping others improve their game. However, off the court, my education takes priority. Noting will prevent me from continuing my education post high school. My dream is to attend an accredited university and take my basketball skills to the professional level.
One of my goals is to become an architect. I enjoy building intricate structures, such as fishing scaffolds and teepees, which has sparked my interest in the field. From a young age, I’ve set goals. I believe goal-setting has helped me be a more coachable player. I pay close attention to the knowledge I can learn from others, taking it all in, and internalizing the best feedback. From a young age, I’ve studied hard in school and played hard on the court.
I’m very passionate about giving back to my community. I’ve been involved with feeding the local homeless and raising funds for the athletic club over the last couple of years. I find this work to be the most rewarding. If I am able to make a positive difference in someone’s life, I’m going to do it.
