Personal Statement
Growing up as the son of a long time football coach, I was taught at a very young age the values of teamwork, effort and selflessness. Both my parents were high school and collegiate athletes and their guidance has taught me how sports can be an influential part of my success in life. Basketball has been my passion from a very young age and I work hard every day at getting better because I want to be a college student-athlete.
Early on in my basketball career I developed the habit of being a very unselfish player, but throughout my progression as a player I have become more confident and aware of my ability to score. My work ethic, knowledge of the game, as well as my ability to play all positions, has helped me become a leader on and off the court. I am not a very outspoken person, but I illustrate leadership in ways other than talking, so much so that my teammates have elected me as a captain this year, even though I am a junior. My high school experience, combined with my AAU success, is preparing me to be a successful college basketball player.
