I love the game. My goal is to continue to play and compete after high school basketball at the highest level that matches my abilities while contributing to my team and getting a quality college education. I am in Honors and AP classes currently and carry a 3.59 weighted (3.33 unweighted) GPA. My college major will likely be Computer Science and some combination of business classes. My ACTs Composite is 27.
We moved to the Knoxville area when my dad transferred jobs and I was fortunate to make and start on the Bearden High School freshman team. Bearden is probably the strongest basketball program in East Tennessee for the last 20+ years under Coach Mark Blevins. During the season, I was asked by Coach Blevins to dress for varsity and when the freshman season was over I played both JV and sat varsity as a freshman. I've played on several AAU teams, playing up at the 17U level when I was 15 and 16. I also played on multiple teams similtaneously and traveled quite a bit around the southeast to various tournaments.
My education is the most important, but I'm committed to excel and push myself physically and with the basketball, both in season and off season, to become a better athlete and player. I'm play a lot of basketball offseason to keep my skills sharp, and continue to work our with a personal trainer (Charlie Petrone) to become a better athlete, get stronger and put on some muscle. We work on lifting, quickness, agility, speed and my vertical leap. I work out with Charlie three days a week after school off season and twice a week during the season. I've increased my standing vertical from 23.5 to 31.0 inches in two years. I also work out with Marlon (Sleepy) Nelson two to three days a week on during the summer and fall on my basketball skills. This is in addition to high school or AAU practices, games, tournaments and camps. I'm coachable and listen to feedback. I'm willing to work hard to be the best I can be.
