Personal Statement

I am currently experiencing an extremely exciting time in my life as I continue to pursue excellence in my high school career while preparing for my future as a college scholar and collegiate athlete. In my athletic endeavors, I have worked tirelessly to develop a strong foundation of fundamental skills and knowledge which has allowed me to achieve success on the court. Through the years, I have learned a variety of approaches, strategies, and styles of play which I can draw upon as I strive to meet my coach’s expectations as well as my own in executing his game plans. I have the stamina and tenacity to play a fast-paced run and gun, pressing type of game while also possessing the focus and attentiveness to play a hard-nosed, defense-minded style of play. I take pride in being able to play multiple positions on the court as this allows my coach to utilize my skills in a variety of ways to create mismatches or to attack weaknesses in our oppone    I am currently experiencing an extremely exciting time in my life as I continue to pursue excellence in my high school career while preparing for my future as a college scholar and collegiate athlete. I take pride in being able to play multiple positions on the court as this allows my coach to utilize my skills in a variety of ways to create mismatches or to attack weaknesses in our opponents. As team captain this year, I believe that it is my duty to not only lead by example by displaying maximum effort and positivity at all times, but also to inspire my teammates to give their all as well in order to achieve success both collectively and individually. Furthermore, I enjoy creating opportunities for my teammates to succeed and I know that my team operates most effectively when I am on the court. I certainly look forward to continuing my basketball career at the college level and I truly believe that I can be an asset to my future teammates and coaches both on and off the court.  In the classroom, I possess the same drive to succeed and compete that I display in athletics. Through strong focus and effective time management skills, I have achieved the number one academic ranking in my class. Though I have yet to decide on a college major, I have taken and will continue to take a wide range of AP courses in order to have the knowledge base needed to excel in any field of study. One of my strongest attributes is my will to succeed in all areas of life. I am fully committed to putting in the work necessary to achieve the goals that I set for myself. I will be thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my basketball career at the collegiate level and I look forward to contributing to the success of my future team and program.
