Isaac Meenan '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Isaac Meenan. I am a junior at Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth Texas. I love playing the game of basketball. I play it with passion! Passion that you can see in my game. Statistics are nice but what I love about basketball the most, as a point guard, my job is making my teammates on the floor look great helping us win games.  I understand that I am a role player.  For example; I can see the whole floor, I make that extra pass for the wide open shoot and I make sure the ball doesn’t touch the ground on the fast break. Defensively, I can take a charge when I am in help side defense. These are just some of the things that I excel at in my basketball game.  My drive and passion is what makes the game fun to play.

As a student athlete I have learned and will continue to learn how to manage my time. During the school year I had basketball every day of the week, most of the time going to two practices a day morning and evening. During that time, I sustained semester high honors and a 3.6 GPA. I have also ran track on a varsity level. I can balance academics, perform service hours and still work hard on my basketball game every day.

This past summer workouts included going to the basketball skills breakfast club at 6 A.M., then to 9 A.M. off-season workouts. My AAU team practiced three times a week in the evening during the summer months. I have always had to work harder than most kids in my class. I have never let anyone tell me that I can’t do something.  I am a true student athlete.

Basketball is only one part of my life. Being strong in academics is important to me too. One day the ball will stop bouncing and I will have to put my major to work.

I thank God every day that I am alive and able to play the game of basketball. I love the game with all my heart. I am the best fit for your program because of my basketball IQ, my distribution of the ball, defensive skills and my winning attitude!
