I started playing basketball when I was five years old, and `when I was eight I made a decision to get serious and start working on my skills every day. I have had goals since a young age and one of my goals is to play basketball at the collegiate level. Playing college basketball would be an opportunity of a lifetime. This experience could lead to future opportunities such as pro basketball, coaching or training.
I continue to dedicate myself to the game and prepare myself for the next level of basketball. I am constantly working on my jump shot to become a more deadly shooter, which is arguably the strongest aspect of my game. I have a high basketball IQ, along with great ball handling and phenomenal court vision. I am a team leader that leads by example and encourages teammates to give their best effort.
I play AAU basketball, in addition to completing very difficult and intense workouts to prepare for the upcoming season. I work on my strength and conditioning by lifting weights, running, and pushing myself in agility workouts. I am constantly working out during the season and in the off-season.
In the classroom, I study very diligently to maintain a high GPA. I take rigorous honors and IB classes that are helping me prepare for college. I also participate in several volunteer activities. I feed the homeless at my church, volunteer at road races, and read to students at the elementary school in my community.
In college, I am interested in studying sports management. After my basketball career comes to an end, I see myself as a basketball coach. I want to be a coach so I can have an impact on the game I love. Coaching allows me to use my leadership skills and basketball knowledge to lead a team.
Basketball is a huge part of my life and so are my academics. I want to attend a college where I can challenge myself in the classroom and compete at the highest level of basketball possible. I want to be a part of a program that expects me to be at my best on and off the court. I am open to all possibilities and I am looking forward to playing basketball at the collegiate level.
