Personal Statement
My name is Hunter Cope, I am 6'4" shooting guard and weigh 205 pounds. I have been playing basketball since the second grade and I have always dreamed of playing basketball at the collegiate level. I have a strong work ethic and I am determined to become the best student athlete I can be. I work hard in the gym and the weight room trying to improve my body and basketball skills. On top of working out I train using the Vertshock program.
I have a 40 inch vertical and solid all around athleticism in basketball and other individual sports. I have good ball handling abilities, strong fundamentals, and I can play anywhere from the shooting guard to the power forward position. Some of my accolades in sports include: Golf: First Team All Conference four years in a row, All Region two years and All State Second Team two years. Track: All Conference 2015 in shot, discus, 200 M, 400 M, 4 X 400 M, and Conference Champion High Jump. Basketball: First Team All Conference my sophomore and junior year and honorable mention to the All Region Basketball Team. I have averaged double digit scoring and rebounding for the past three years while shooting over 50% from the floor throughout my entire high school career.
I work hard academically to maintain a high GPA and believe that my efforts off the court are just as important as my efforts on the court. During my high school career, I have maintained a 3.54 GPA. I scored a 24 on the ACT before the completion of my Junior Year. I am a member of the gifted program, First Priority and the Beta Club. I also won the All American Scholar and Leadership Award.
I feel like I could be highly beneficial to any college team that would be generous enough to recruit me and I will do my absolute best to become the best student athlete I can possibly be.
