I am a self-motivated, team first player. I am a vocal leader and work to challenge and inspire my teammates. I aspire to play at the highest competitive level of college basketball and dream to eventually make my way to the NBA. Along with being a professional athlete, I want to be a Sports Scientist so I can help kids and other athletes who have the same dreams that I do now. I am a great student because I am disciplined and I work hard to complete all assignments and earn high scores on tests. The two high schools I attended, Cheyenne Mountain and Battlefield, are both top academic schools in their respective states, Colorado and Virginia. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Virginia with a 4.2 GPA and also look forward to continuing my education while playing the sport I love.
On the court, I am developing and learning very quickly on how to be an effective , efficient, and smart guard. I know that I have a ton of upside. In high school, I had 4 head coaches in 4 years and played with 5 different AAU coaches in 4 years. I know that with continued work on my part combined with consistent coaching that I have the work-ethic and skill-set to do great things. I was a combo guard in high school who also had the ability to work in the post against smaller players. Having three coaches in three years at Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs, Colorado and one coach my senior year at Battlefield was a challenge, but it was a great learning experience for me because it forced me to successfully adjust to different coaching styles. At Cheyenne Mtn., I was still voted as captain of the team in both my Sophomore and Junior years. My old AAU team, the Colorado Miners, was full of the best guards in Colorado Springs and the state of Colorado as a whole. The Higher Level Elite team I played with during summer 2016 also consisted of some of the top talents in the Northern Virginia area. I learned a lot about myself and the game of basketball while playing with them. I grew up on the East Coast in the D.C. area and my aggressive style of play resembles the DMV style. I am more of a defense first and attack the rim type player, with the ability to knock down threes and hit mid range shots. In both high school and AAU, I proudly took on the challenge of guarding the top offensive players on the opposing team.
This coming fall, I will be attending Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA as a post-graduate athlete. I am excited to use this year to show that I can consistently play at a high level amongst great competition in practices and in games. While at Massanutten, I will continue to strengthen my skills and deepen my understanding of the game so that I will be a perfect fit for a college team in the following years.
