Personal Statement
First and foremost I am a student, and I thoroughly believe that my grades and academic achievement come before basketball. I make a conscious effort to put in hard work in the classroom in order to meet my goal of a 3.9 GPA or higher. I also believe in putting in hard work when it comes to basketball. Basketball is my passion and when working hard is in your nature, the two go hand-in-hand. My goal is to earn a full-ride basketball scholarship in order to continue in the development of my game as well as my character. I am eager to face adversity, as it is something that I feel mentally and physically prepared for at all times, knowing that it only makes me stronger. I can guarantee a 100% effort every time I step into the classroom or into the gym, and I will do everything in my power to become a great player. I am interested in not only making myself better but the people around me better also. I love to help create a positive culture in a team atmosphere, and work collectively with a group to reach a common goal.
As a player I feel that I am a dependable and vocal leader at the point guard/shooting guard position which compliments my scoring ability. I have solid ball handling skills and feel very comfortable coming off screens, in transition finding the open man, and knocking down jump shots from all over the court.
