Personal Statement
September of Junior Year: 'Nathan Cohen, a 2014 6'0" 165lb player out of Seattle Academy (WA), is a talented player that can really shoot it and is very active. We loved his ability to get to the rim and finish. He has a nice floater and has a definite chance if he continues to work hard. I am a 6 foot shooting guard out of Seattle, WA. I want to be the best I can be at anything I do, and what I do is play Basketball. Basketball has taught me a lot about myself, and a lot about life in general. It has taught me to be hard working and dedicated, and that if I put my mind to something I can do it. Over the past three years I have progressed as a play in so many ways. My main goal is to play intercollegiate Basketball, I work hard, and I do everything I can to be the best. I have been rejected from the high school varsity team 3 years in a row and after tireless workouts, and hours in the gym I have yet to make the varsity team. Not making the Varsity team has only driven me to become better, and train harder. That is exactly what I have done, this year I was Head Captain of the JV team and helped lead our team to a 13 and 4 record. I believe that next year, with 8 seniors graduating I will be able to step up and take on a big role on the team. But, I do not feel as if I have the right to being on varsity yet, even though I am a shoe in next year I believe that I will need to work harder for something more than just my name on that roster. I spend endless hours in the gym training with my trainer and mentor Joseph Buchanan. I believe that all my hard work will pay off and I will be able to play at the next level, which has been my dream since I have been a little kid.
