  • Class of 2015 Cody Schwartz, 6-8, F, West De Pere (Wisconsin Blizzard – Pronschinske) – Schwartz displayed plenty of versatility in a pair of victories for the Blizzard on Friday. He ripped down rebounds, handled the ball in transition and finished off the dribble. He also made his foul shots and got it going from deep, which is one of his trademarks. Schwartz’s ability to ball fake and take a dribble or two for a pull-up jump shot might be his biggest strength and it was on display in Wisconsin Dells. Nick McGlynn, 6-8, PF, Stoughton (Wisconsin Playground Warriors) – McGlynn is a steady, if not spectacular, baseline player who can finish around the basket while also giving forth a consistent effort on both offense and defense. He scored at a high rate in a victory over the Wisconsin Crusaders and does a fine job of using the glass on short shots in the lane. Brevin Pritzl, 6-3, WG, De Pere (Wisconsin Playground Warriors) – Pritzl was on fire in an opening-game victory over Wisconsin Dynasty, scoring 20 straight points at one point. His shot was a bit off in the victory over the Crusaders, but his pesky nature on defense and willingness to pass the ball to his teammates were definitely strong traits. Kyle Monroe, 6-5, WF, Ashwaubenon (Wisconsin Blizzard – Pronschinske) – The left-handed wing forward who was known for attacking the rim and either finishing or dropping off a pinpoint pass to a teammate has now added a consistent perimeter shot to his arsenal. That is obviously not good news for opponents as Monroe’s triple-threat skill set is both impressive and difficult to defend. Mason Domask, 6-3, WG, Waupun (Wisconsin Blizzard – Pronschinske) – When Domask caught the ball in rhythm and shot from distance, he hit shots. And, of course, he was extremely difficult to contain off the dribble because of his size, strength and aggressiveness. Domask’s competitiveness and willingness to do the little things to help his team win are consistent positives in his game. Ben Boots, 6-2, G, Kimberly (Wisconsin Blizzard – Boots) – Boots had it going from distance for the Blizzard as he knocked down three-point shot after three-point shot while leading his team to a pair of impressive victories. He has good size, a strong basketball IQ and the ability to score from mid-range and distance in his game. Connor Konshak, 6-2, WF, West De Pere (Wisconsin Blizzard – Pronschinske) – Konshak is the best pure athlete on the Blizzard team and he shows it time after time with his ability to go up and throw down a dunk. But he is also a player who moves very well without the basketball and always seems to find openings to drop in short shots for the Blizzard. Carter Belling, 6-0, PG, Kaukauna (Wisconsin Blizzard – Pronschinske) – Belling made the switch from the Playground Warriors to the Wisconsin Blizzard after the first weekend of club play and his adjustment to his new teammates appeared seamless. He made shots off the dribble, got into the lane and pushed the ball in transition. His ball handling ability against pressure defense is a definite asset for the Blizzard as well. Erich Mueller, 6-5, PF, Berlin (Wisconsin Crusaders) – Few players on Friday competed with more energy and hustle than Mueller, who battled the inside tandem of McGlynn and Dylan Hamlin while also scoring for the Crusaders in their loss to the Playground Warriors. He averaged 8.9 ppg and 7.5 rpg as a junior at Berlin and figures to be one of the better frontline players in the Eastern Valley Conference next winter. Dylan Hamlin, 6-11, C, Wausau East (Wisconsin Playground Warriors) – Hamlin is a work in progress and is impressive in his consistent approach to working on his game. He runs the floor well and is improving at catching and finishing in the lane. Defensively, he is able to block some shots while also providing the Warriors with excellent length around the hoop. Dane McDermott, 6-1, G, Mukwonago (Wisconsin Swing – Smith) – McDermott saw plenty of action for a Mukwonago squad that went 18-9 and qualified for the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament for the second year in a row. He made several shots from three-point range in a loss to the Blizzard – Pronschinske and used his strength to get into the lane for the Swing. Logan Maulick, 6-2, WG, Freedom (Wisconsin Crusaders) – An impressive wing guard with good physical strength and the ability to make shots off the dribble, Maulick led the Crusaders in scoring in a loss to the Playground Warriors while also competing well on the defensive end of the court.
