Personal Statement

My name is Caden Bieker and I am 6'0 point guard at Columbus High School in Wisconsin. Right now I am currently a Junior, going into my Senior year of High School.

I LOVE the game of basketball and I enjoy working on my game and working out each and every day to get better. You could say I am a bit of gym rat. It is rare if I go a day without working out. I also enjoy watching and studying the game as well. Watching players like Steve Nash and Chris Paul and trying to take things from their game and implementing them in my game. How they set up their teammates and get there team into there sets is something I enjoy as well. I try to watch as much film as I can of myself/team and of other players. Anything I can do to gain an edge to help my team win. I am not a sore loser but you could say I hate to lose and I will do anything to help my team win.

My Junior year of high school I avg 8.2 points per game and 3 assists and our team won it's first regional championship in 28 years which I a REALLY proud of. It was so fascinating how the community got behind the team and how they packed the gyms. We ended up two games away from going to State. We are really excited to come back next year as a team and try to do it again.

I also play AAU for Team Jones 17U and I am the starting point guard for our team. I have been avg 16.4 pts per game and 6.3 assists so far this AAU season with only committing 1.6 turnovers a game. (something I really wanted to improve on from my high school season).

Things I need to improve on this summer to help achieve my high-school goals:

- lateral quickness and keeping my guy in front of me on defense.

- getting my shot quicker (more game ready)

- I am a point guard so I need to keep improving my leadership skills. (on & off the court)

- moving without the ball and making better and harder cuts

My best assets

- ball handling and creating space for myself

- creating easier shots for my teammates

- shooting the pull up jumper

- I can shoot from outside the perimeter
