Personal Statement
I love the sport of diving because it literally changed my life. Three years ago when I tried out for my HS diving team I had no idea what becoming a diver would mean for my life. I love so many things about the sport including the friends I have made, the traveling, the feel of a medal around my neck, and being in great shape, but the things I love the most about being a diver have happened outside the pool.
As I became a dedicated athlete I started seeing changes in other areas of my life. I made friends easier, cared more about my grades, cared more about everything! I started setting big goals for myself. Some of the goals that I have already achieved in this short amount of time are:
- Winning conference, regionals and being a state finalist in Indiana (which is a very tough diving state with many divers having 8-10 yeas in the sport)
- Medaling at USA diving Regionals (one and 3 meter)
- Maintaining a cumulative 4.0 GPA while taking the very hardest classes my school has to offer and diving an average of 12 hours a week
