Roy Carlsen '15 Recruiting Profile

Golf is my passion.  It has been for the last four years of my life.  I aspire to play golf at the college level and possibly professionally someday.  I currently work at a local golf course.  It allows me to not only work at a place I enjoy being at, but allows me to practice and improve at the sport I love.

I became serious about golf during my freshman year in high school.  Prior to that, I played baseball year-round, basketball in the fall and winter and golf whenever I could.  After my freshman year I moved to Colorado where I began to play summer golf tournaments, first with CGJA then with RMJGT.  I played on the Varsity golf team as a freshman (Piedra Vista High School), the Invitational Varsity golf team as a sophomore and on the Varsity golf team as a junior and senior (Ralston Valley High School). Both as a junior and a senior, I was voted most valuable player and as a senior I also received the sportsmanship award for my team.  I have a very strong commitment to the game, I work and practice hard and constantly try to improve my game. Not only am I capable of playing great golf, but I will also push my teammates to succeed.
