Personal Statement
I'm your next college student golfer that you want on your team. One of my goals in college is to be the number one player on the team. I will bring intensity, competitiveness, focus, and a good positive attitude. Another goal of mine is to win a lot of tournaments, whether it's just a normal league tournament, or even a national championship. Winning and succeeding are my main goals and having me on your team will help us both achieve our dreams.
Since I was 8 years old, I have been enthralled with the game of golf. After I won, or was in the top 3 of many golf tournaments as a young boy, I knew this was how I wanted to spend my free time. A major highlight for me, at the age of 13, was when I got my first hole-in-one, in Colorado Springs, at the Pine Creek Golf course. This was a moment that I saw myself achieving and succeeding in my favorite sport.
I can assure you, that as a golfer on your team, you can count on me to be dedicated. I am known to spend every waking hour thinking, dreaming, practicing, and playing golf. I will commit to playing great golf, encouraging my fellow teammates to get better, and to be the hardest worker on the team. As a child, every time I won a tournament, or placed well, it made me feel like I was a superstar athlete; by far, it is the best feeling in the world, and has ignited my love and passion for this sport way beyond my child/teenage years.
I am looking forward to taking my love of golf to the collegiate level. I bring a good competitive spirit to the team and am very hardworking. Also, I like to have fun as well, not taking set backs too seriously. I am also very dedicated to doing well in school, and have worked hard in my Honors classes to have a 3.5+. I plan to continue to work hard on the course, and also in the classroom.
To date, my freshman high school golf season was also a big success for me. I did very well in all of the league events all throughout the season, and then towards the end of the year, I did well too. At regionals, I had a decent score and one of my teammates tied me, and we both made it to state. I tied for 7th at state and ended up earning a top 10 medal, which was the first for my school. I realized this achievement was worth much more than myself, and I enjoyed every moment of representing my school.
Thank you for considering me to be a part of your team; I am more than excited to plan for my golf life outside of high school, and continue to excel as your next college student athlete.
