Personal Statement

My name is Guillermo Cortina.My graduation year is 2016 and I am a Freshman at Img Academy.I am right now a 3 handicap golfer.

Golf is my biggest Passion in my life and my goal is to have a life around my favorite pastime.

My dream is first, to play College Golf and then after I graduate from College,become a Pga Tour Professional.I would like to play College Golf first ,because I think it would be a great experience with Golf and this way I could continue with my Golf process and also it would be complemented with my College Education.

This way if anything goes wrong ,I will always have the College Education,that would help me to get a good job,that does not rely in my ability to play Golf.

After I graduate from College ,I want to become a Pga Tour Professional and it is my dream to become the first ever Mexican Male golf player to win a "Mayor "

2017 BOSQUES CLUB DE GOLF (CHAMPIONSHIP CATEGORY 0 TO 5 HANDICAP)
I won First Place , last November 2016 my golf club championship in the category of championship( 0 to 5 handicap) I shot 5 under in 4 days and 72 holes of stroke play.

I continued with my process and my maine objective . Not to ake triple and quadruple bogeys . Paula my menthal coch gave me this. Not to force my golf,concentrate,I never thought in a score for next day.....I feel great and the very good score are in the way.....I shot 76-79 and today 73.Im in the perfect path now....

I feel very good about what I accomplished in this Tournament.My main objectives for thistournament were to control my golf and not to force my golf.I did not made a triple or cuadripule bogey during the 3 days.And I did not forced my golf .I had some little errors in forcing my putt. I changed my golf coach 2 months ago and I feel very good with Tim again. I have not yet automized the technical changes automized that I made.Im working very hard in my mental game with the Mexican Olympic Menthal coach.I feel that I have not only maured in my golf game ,but in my personal life also.I played the 3 days trying not to think in my score and played also without thinking in the other players.I focused only in my main objectives.I took very good decisions and I used for the first time a driving iron that I can hit 280 yards easily.Im going to my next tournament very happy with myself and very condident.I feel very confidence and I will keep working in this process which sooner or later I will have very good scores.I will be working the following months with my mental coach in my new mental program of High Performance Athlete and I know it is a long process,however the results for the near future will be great.I almost forgot,it is the first time that I played, in a soyzia grass golf course and it was very difficult for me to adjust to this type of grass. This was my first time ever playing in this type of grass.

This is the most important golf tournament of the season and it is rated by the Ajga for the first 25 players of the 70 field.(14 -18 YEARS) This National Tournament also gives double points to the first 20 places of the Mexican National Ranking.I m in 8th place in the Mexican National Ranking before this upcoming last event.
