Liam Doherty '15 Recruiting Profile

I first picked up a plastic golf club at the age of 2, and ever since I've been hooked. I am and have always been a very driven and determined golfer. I put in the work on the range and on the course. Also have a strong mental game and can get myself through tough situations during a round. This translates to a good bounce back percentage. I am, what I like to call a "smart aggressive golfer". I'd say my short game around the green is my strong point. I am able to chip and/or pitch the ball close when I miss the green in the bunker, the rough, and even from the fringe. I can often rely on my short game when I'm not hitting the ball well on the golf course. I also have a great imagination when it come to chipping as its quite easy for me to visualize the shot before I hit it. I hit my drives on average around 270 to two 285. I really enjoy the competition I get out of playing in junior golf tournaments, and playing friendly matches with buddies on the course. I believe my attitude on and off the course has always been positive. I understand bad shots are just mistakes and bad rounds are just part of the learning process. I'm hoping playing college golf will be the next big step in my golfing career. I'm very excitied about the future and where the game of golf will take me.
