Personal Statement
I first started playing golf when I was 12 years old. I started playing golf because my older brother started to play, so I figured I might as well give it a shot. Little did I know I would fall in love with the game so quickly. Not only did I just fall in love with it I realized that this is the first sport that I might actually have a shot to succeed in. From that point on I knew that's what I wanted to do every day. I am extremely devoted to the sport and I love seeing progress, which is what I believe sets me apart from others. I am addicted to bettering myself mostly on the course but also as a person. I started working at Sugar Mill Country Club in New Smyrna Beach Fl, because I knew that I would be able to practice and better my game there. I work mostly in the golf shop but not limited there, I also do carts and am a starter. Working in the golf shop has really helped me better understand the game. I am a team player and always try to help other people improve, sometimes even more than myself.
When it comes to school I have realized the past couple of years that it is even more important than golf. It took me a while to realize that and I know that now. In my first two years of high school I was way too focused and caught up in golfing and work, that I paid very little attention to school which is by far my biggest regret. If I had the chance to go back in time and change anything it would be that. And I only wish that I had realized that sooner because it would be different. Once I realized that I quickly made it my top priority to change. My GPA over my previous junior year was 3.0 or higher and I will continue to improve that throughout my senior year.
