My goal when I committed to the sport of golf just two years ago was to play collegiate golf at an institution that would afford a solid academic business or sports management degree while assisting me to further develop my game on the course. For the last two years, I have focused on the development of different areas of my game while challenged with the benefit of significant growth in height to my current stature of 6'5". I have worked closely with my swing coach to adapt and modify my swing as I have continued to grow. At the end of this past summer, I shot my tournament low round and had some of my best tournament finishes which gave me confidence that my development in the sport is continuing to progress and that there is still great potential ahead of me. My role on the high school team as a junior was one of a leader playing the number one position. Through example on and off the course, I have created a close bond with my teammates and they know that I am supportive of them and have their best interests at heart. I will bring that same level of leadership and being a great teammate to the college team that I am fortunate enough to play for. Although golf is an individual sport for which I enjoy the competition and confidence of knowing that I control my own performance, I enjoy the camaraderie of a team aspect that is afforded in college golf. Academically, I aspire to leave college with a great academic foundation that will open doors in careers of interest. At the appropriate time, I would also like to pursue an MBA degree to further advance my business or sports management career. No matter what the outcome of my collegiate golfing career, my objective is to leave a positive legacy on both the the university and the golf team that leaves both better than when I arrived.
