Personal Statement

It has been a dream of mine for many years to pursue my passion for golf and play at the collegiate level. I would love to play for a division 1 school. I've been golfing competitively since I was nine years old, and have worked hard to improve each year. I love the competitiveness of the sport, it drives me to always be working to improve my game. Being from Idaho, I've had to learn to adapt to all kinds of weather conditions. I've golfed in rain, snow, hail, high wind, very cold temperatures, and very hot temperatures. I've learned to be prepared for just about any thing. In 2016 I won the 2A High School Individual Championship as a Sophomore. And in 2017 I was runner up as a Junior. I recently won the 2017 Idaho Junior State Championship at McCall golf course.

I also take my academics very seriously. I am in the National Honors Society and I have taken college Algebra and Calculus.

I WON the Idaho Junior State Championship. I won by 1 stroke shooting 72-71=143 +1 total. It was a tight course and I only hit driver one time each day. My average stats were 7 Fairways, 10 Greens, 27 Putts and 1 Penalty Stroke per round.

I took 4th out of 61. I shot 74-69. 1 under par. I am the 1st alternate to go to Mississippi for the Championship. I played great but had a few blow up holes. I shot -3 on day 2 with a triple, I had 7 birdies on the day and 12 total. I hit 12 greens each day but had a total of 5 penalty strokes. My putting was better 29 and 25.

I shot 74 and qualified in the 4th seed for the bracket. I had a first round bye. In the second round I caught fire and had 4 birdies in a row. I shot 3 under on the front and was 4 up. On the back I cooled off a bit and the other player did well. We were all square on 18 and although I had my chances, I lost on the 20th hole. That same kid went on to win the tournament.

Range sessions
3 years
4 days a week for a hour, hit odd clubs 2 days and even 2 days. I work on consistency by hitting five good shots at the target in a row.
Chipping and putting session
3 years
I work on my putting for 30 minutes and chipping for 30 minutes. In these sessions I work on my lag putts, make 30 3 footers in a row, and do the ladder drill. In my chipping session I work on hitting high trajectory and low trajectory chips. I also try to chip into a 4 foot circle and this way it helps me to have more up and downs. These sessions happen about 3-4 days a week.
Playing Golf

In a week I probably average 6 - 9 hole rounds. I play most at our home course in Aberdeen. Between my father and grandpa I usually play a different course each week. I also travel to play practice rounds before tournaments. I have also posted all of my tournaments in the events section.
Lessons

I have taken lessons now from 4 different pros. Currently I am working with John Wilson at Juniper Hills CC in Pocatello, Idaho. In the past I have worked with Matt Steirman from Headwaters at Teton Springs in Victor, Idaho. Also I worked with Rick Deacon at Juniper Hills CC in Pocatello, Idaho. And before that I worked with Michael Erickson from Oregon Trail Golf Course in Soda Springs, Idaho.
