Personal Statement
Golf has been a huge part of my life from a very young age. Starting at 3 years old my grandpa would take me out to the golf course to play with him. He was amazed that at, such a young age, I could keep my focus on the game for the entirety of 9 holes and often ask to play longer. So he started picking me up from pre-school once a week to take me out golfing. That’s when my love for the game began. I continued to golf and play a variety of sports as well up until my last year of junior high. That was when I finally beat my grandpa in a game of golf and realized that golf was the sport for me. So I started focusing solely on golf and have practiced constantly ever since, playing 50-60 hours a week, getting golf lessons from the golf pro, playing junior tournaments and playing on the high school golf team at Preston High. I am a member at two different golf courses and am constantly playing tournaments and practicing. If I struggle with one part of my game in a tournament I’m out there fixing it that night. I believe that consistently having the golf club in my hands as much as I can will help me stand out against other golfers. I love golf and have a great passion for the sport, there is nothing that I would rather spend my time doing than playing golf!
I also have always felt that working hard in academics is also important as I am an A student. I feel that going to college and getting a degree is crucial to my success in the future as well. So I’d love to have the opportunity to combine my passion for golf with my desire to learn and play as a student athlete in college!
