Personal Statement
As a young boy, I was always interested in sports - all sports! The only toy I played with was a ball. Be it a soccer ball, baseball, tennis ball, golf ball - it didn’t matter. I played club soccer at the age of 6, along with playing golf with my dad whenever we had the chance. My soccer career continued until the age of 14. I knew going into high school that both soccer and golf were played in the same season. I had to make a decision, and my decision was golf. I focused all my attention on the game of golf, and my love for the game grew. The summer going into my freshmen year of high school, I began playing competitively in the McHenry County Junior Golf Association. I had three wins that year, along with making it to the Tournament of Champions. The following summer I was McHenry County Player of the Year. Currently, I am playing in the Illinois Junior Golf Association. In my first two tournaments, I have won and finished second. I feel that I am a very focused and level-headed person, and I am willing to work hard to become a better golfer. I know that I can be a valuable asset to a college team. I will bring a positive attitude and strong determination. My work ethic, both academically and athletically, make me an outstanding candidate for your team.
