Personal Statement

Spring, Summer Season Golf Events  & Target Tournament Goals for 2017:

This upcoming 2017 golf season I am looking to up my play a little in more 36 and 54 hole tournaments on these targeted tours MAJGT, IJGA, CDGA, and the McHenry County Amateur . Plus try to qualify for the Illinois State Junior Amateur Championship, CEJA Chick Evans Junior Amateur Championship.

You can also see my resume @ www.juniorgolfscoreboard.com

Off Season game plan for Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar 2016/2017:

I was elected team captain by my peers for my senior year 2016/2017 season for my leadership skills. I believe in leading by example I would never ask someone to do something which I have not done myself. I am a team player and I believe in getting my hands dirty if you know what I mean. My real strength is my easy going but competitive nature which fuels my determination to achieve my dreams with hard work. Plus as a byproduct it inspires others around me to get organized and accomplish their own personal goals the same way. I also invited 3 other members of the golf team who are not in active sports right now to join me in this TPI class and also to get involved with a high school competition using the golf simulators which is organized by The Golf Academy at Terra Cotta where I play out of in the off season this should be FUN to compete with the other schools we don't normally see in the IHSA regional conference. At the end of the season I was voted MVP by my peers, Held the low 9 and 18 hole scoring average. I started 100% of the time playing the #1 slot my score counted 92% of the time 12 of 12 matches. I made through the IHSA regional state qualifier series. I was low medalist 3 times during the course of my HS season.

In the off season are that I will be working with my swing coach at the dome this winter every 3rd weekend on Sundays. For the third year in a row starting Jan 9th on Saturdays for 12 weeks I will be taking a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) strength and flexibility program I am a +3 or +4 now. Plus it includes 1 hour of private lessons using 2 bays which have a ForeSight launch monitor and video cameras (face on and down the line) providing you with the feedback you need to significantly accelerate your learning process. It will break my swing down into the simplest of components so I can visualize what I need to do to swing automatically in the right kinetic sequence. Plus it has a SAM-Putt lab which is like a launch monitor for putting. Plus 2 TruGolf Simulators that allow players to choose from over 82 golf courses with Track-Man capabilities.

This year I also will be adding a TPI certified weight lifting trainer geared directly towards golf to build up my core body strength. I have been doing this type of off season training for several years now. It does work and has helped me to be prepared and be ready to play right out of the gate come spring.

Training & Conditioning 2017:

I am currently working on strength training at the high school and starting in Jan 2017. For the forth year I did sign up for 10 weeks called (TPI) Titleist Performance Institute a specialized course for elite golfers focusing on slow motion golf video instruction, flexibility, and weight training and conditioning with Jim Buenzuli head PGA teaching professional at The Golf Academy at Terra Cotta in Prairie Grove IL.

I also plan to work with my swing coach over the winter who is the head PGA professional at McHenry Country Club (Scott Beaugureau).

I work out every day at the local weight training facility in the evenings.

Golf Improvement Statement this coming season 2017:

My goals for the upcoming season are to place in top 5 in the 10 events that can range from 18 to 54 holes. I am very athletic, and coach-able I have played on a variety of sports through out the years but for the last 4 years I am focusing totally on golf.

I have set my goals high for the upcoming 2017 spring and summer season of hitting 65% GIR and 60% FIR and also lowering my average putts per round to around 25 or under. I want to be up and down from within 10 yards of the green I feel improving my short game from 120 yards and in is absolutely critical to lowering my overall scoring average. The longer I hit it the more important my short game becomes.

Community:

I enjoy volunteering my time through our key club at school a few weekends back I had the opportunity to work on a event which took presents to under privileged families in the immediate area for the Christmas Holiday. You should have seen their faces that told the real story about life and giving to others it was priceless. One of my goals here is to volunteer enough time to gain the "Distinguished Warrior Award" by graduation that would be awesome.

During the summer months I dedicate my spare time to the PGA - 1st Tee Program which emphasizes life skills experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life. We also teach them how to play the game of golf so it is a win – win for everyone including myself.

I am a 4th year Honors caddy and also volunteer my time in the spring in the development of new caddies in our clubs caddy program. For the last 10 years our club has had 2 Evans Scholarships picks each year. So you know how much our club supports the Evans Charity. Our club has several unique distinctions. 1st it was where Taylor Made metal clubs were invented by one of our members and was started. 2nd our club is known throughout the state of Illinois as have the most

Character/Skills:

My 5 biggest strengths are honesty, commitment, family, and leadership. These core values are the foundation of what set me apart from the rest, but my time management skill is the glue that holds them all together. I am a team player and am willing to go over and above what is expected of me to succeed. I have learned through the success I have enjoyed so far in my life that I will do what the average person will not - I am not average!

Education:

One of my main goals is to find a college that has a Business Accounting with a Marketing minor. OR a PE teaching  (K-12) major along with coaching or sports management minor or Lastly I am considering the PGA Golf Management School with a business degree so I have three options at this point and time.  All of these are the areas of study I am most interested in but there is time to change as I gain more 1st hand knowledge.

Secondly I am looking for a school that is academically and athletically competitive where I can be challenged to grow to my full potential.

I go to McHenry (West) Campus high school in McHenry, IL. a IHSA division 3A school in the Fox Valley Conference.

Academics:

I have been on the Honor Roll for my first two years.

Freshman year (9th Grade) I graduated with a 3.36 overall weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale. With a Class Rank of 126 out of 380 total students in my class.

I have taken my ACT test in April 2016 and got a composite score of 22. I plan to re take it during Dec 2016. I do go to the local Sylvan Learning Center here in McHenry after school twice per week for 2 hours to work extra on the ACT segments so I can improve upon my test taking abilities.

Many thanks for you for taking the time out of your day to read this about me!

Gratefully,

Ben Prisching
