Personal Statement

My name is Tyler Anderson and I am currently a 16 year Senior at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL. I’ve played a variety of sports over the years, but golf has always been my passion. What I enjoy most about golf is that it challenges me to keep improving each time I play.

I started playing in tournaments at the age 6 and have played for many different organizations such as AJGA, MAJGT, IJGA, JGAA, High School, Junior PGA, U.S. Kids, and the Putt Chip Drive.  Some of my accomplishments include:

  • 2nd place finish at Illinois High School Association State Golf Tournament on Oct. 14 and 15, 2016
  • Set new school records in 2016: Best State finals finish in school history, lowest 9 hole score of 30, lowest 18/9 hole average 36.2
  • Captain of Varsity Golf team for three consecutive years

  • MAJGT Second City Classic 73, 72 2nd place June 2016
  • IJGA Countryside 70, 1st place June 2016

  • Tied the school record at age 14 (sophomore year) with a score of 33 on 9 holes in 2014
  • Placed 1st in the Putt Chip and Drive contest to represent my region at the 1st PGA Putt chip and drive at Medinah Country Club to open the 2012 Ryder Cup
  • Numerous top 5’s in the other organizations with several 1st place wins over the years

Playing college golf and going to a university with a strong academic base will be the next stepping stone towards my goal of playing on the PGA tour.
