I understand the importance of a college education. In addition to receiving my degree I want to have a fully rounded college experience including sports. An important part of my experience would be having the opportunity to play collegiate golf. I am very excited to start the process of exploring schools, learning about their academic offerings and programs. I am wide open on where the journey will take me, and I have not limited myself on a specific geography I am targeting or size of school. I am very fortunate my parents support me in my broad search.
As for golf, I have been working hard on my game and have made significant improvements from my freshman year. To further improve my game I have worked with different swing coaches, have winter training, and as weather permits play a minimum of 5 rounds a week, in addition to driving range time, HS tournaments and practices. My family has memberships at Bowes Creek Country Club in Elgin, IL and also Mount Hawley Country Club in Peoria, IL. Both courses are challenging and different. With all the focus on my game, I have been improving, and I am excited to see in the future the benefits of my hard work will have on my game.
Academically I am B - C student, and working hard on my grades. I attend Dunlap High School, located in Dunlap, Illinois. Dunlap High School received an 2017 Academic Silver Medal from US News & World Report, ranking my school 24th in the state of Illinois, and 952nd nationally. The high school uses the parochial school grading model, ie: 94% for an A, 84% for a B, etc.
I am ranked #1 on my HS varsity golf team, as a junior and senior. I also played on my varsity HS baseball team. But golf is my passion.
