Personal Statement
My name is Connor Wascher, I am a junior in high school who is aspiring to take my golf game to the collegiate level. I would make a good candidate for your golf team because I am more than a good golfer; I am a good student and person. I take equal pride in my accomplishments outside the game of golf as I do for my achievements playing this great game. I attribute my success in and out of the classroom to my great work ethic and pursuit of excellence. As a member of my school's National Honors Society, I have been given the opportunity to volunteer my time for many great causes, and hope to continue my efforts to better the community I am apart of beyond my high school graduation. Throughout my academic and golf career my leadership qualities have improved greatly, because I always try to be the best example I can be. I refuse to accept anything less than my best effort, an attitude I believe would be a positive impact to any team in any sport. Another thing I bring to a team is my love for the game. Being born into a golf family with my father being a teaching professional for many years, a club was in my hands early on. This love is what wakes me up to practice and/or play a round in any conditions. Even though the golf course is my favorite place to be, my dedication to improving my game goes beyond the practice facilities. In the summer months, I have a planned diet to accompany a strength training program I have developed with the help of coaches and research. Last summer I was able to gain 20 pounds, and my goal for summer 2016 is to add another 15 pounds and cut my body fat to under 2.5%. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, and I hope my dedication to improve as an athlete, student, and person is evident of the type of recruit you are looking for.
