Personal Statement
My name is Bryce Conlee. I am a Senior at Zionsville High School in Zionsville, Indiana where I am on the Varsity golf team. I have been swinging a golf club since I could walk and developed an interest for the game at very young age. I was born in Tampa, FL and spent the first 7 years of my life there. My family and I lived on a golf course where I first played with my dad. I continued playing when we moved to Indiana and started competing in tournaments at 10 years old with PGA Jr and then US Kids. These experiences are what built my love for the game and passion to improve every day. I played other sports throughout my elementary and middle school years including baseball, football, and basketball, but by the end of my 8th grade year, I knew golf was what I wanted to focus on. I have always dreamed of playing at the collegiate level and feel that I am a good fit for a college team not only because of my athletic skills, but also my academic standards. I work hard, set my goals high, and I put in the time to achieve them both on and off the golf course and in the classroom.
Golf for me is year-round as I compete and train 12 months of the year. Outside of my high school season during the spring, I compete in the summer and fall in various tournaments both in state and out of state. I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel across the country and play in tournaments in Florida, Texas, and Virginia, along with playing in different states across the Midwest. During the off season and winter months, I lift weights in the gym to increase strength and practice indoors to improve my game.
There have been so many things that the game of golf has taught me that I will take with me for the rest of my life. Its impact on me has further increased my desire to continue to play this sport at the next level.
