Personal Statement
I have a great passion for the game of golf and thrive on playing competitively. My game is progressing positively in all areas and I continue to strive to improve it. Recent success, playing in the New England Amateur and Massachusetts Junior Amateur, has me confident that I now can pursue my dream of playing golf at the collegiate level. I have worked very hard and will continue to work as hard as I can to accomplish my dream. Through my hard work over the past year, my handicap has dropped from a 9 to a 1. To achieve this improvement I have spent many of hours of physical training as well as practicing my game. I have the determination and overall love of the game that I know that I can accomplish anything with my game and that the sky is the limit with hard work and determination. It would mean everything to be given the chance to play golf at the college level and as such would give me a chance to soar to new levels and the opportunity to continue to improve.
As well as practicing my golf I also take great pride in my academics. I put as much time into school as I do into golf. I am disciplined when it comes to school. I will stay up late at nights studying for exams, completing projects and finishing my homework. This is evident with my current 4.01 weighted GPA at Arlington Catholic High School, and the success I have had in many honors and A.P classes that I have taken. I recently was notified that I passed the A.P. literature examination. I had a sound score on the ACT examination. I plan to attend all 4 years of college and hope with a good education live a happy and prosperous life. I have the work ethic both academically and for the game of golf; any school that decides to invest in me will not only get a great golfer, but an excellent student.
