My name is Matt O’Donnell. I’ve been playing golf as a member of Hopkinton Country Club (MA) since I was 6 years old. In 2011 I made the varsity golf team at Algonquin Regional HS as a freshman and was Captain my senior year. I was one of the top scorers on the team all four years and was match medalist many times. In years 2012 - 2014 I was named an All Star in the Mid Watch A Division. Our team made it to the States in 2013 and 2014. Since joining the High school team, my handicap has dropped from a 9 to a 2 (from 4 to 2 this past season) and my goal is scratch by the time I am in college.
This year I plan to focus on improving my golf game and continue to participate as an honors/AP student. I will continue to spend my summer participating in golf tournaments. In 2013 I attended Jim McLean Golf School at Doral, FL and winters I trained at GolfTec. My goal is to attend a college with a strong academic program where I can be a contributing member of a competitive golf team. I am highly motivated to step up my golf training to compete, become a scratch player and play competitive golf in college and beyond.
I am looking to attend a college with a strong business school/program and major in Finance with a goal to pursue my MBA.
Golf will always be an important part of my academic and social life as well as my future business career.
