First I’d like to thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, I will continue to update my golf video, academics, and key stats.
Since I could walk I have always been active in sports. My father introduced me to Golf when I was around 5, and I would play casually with him and attended summer golf camps at our local golf course. Through the years I also played Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, and Track. At the age of 12, entering 7th grade, I decided to play Football through the Middletown Valley Athletic Association, the stepping stone to High School Football in Middletown. Middletown won the 2A State Championship in Football in 2011, 2012, and 2013. That first year of football was a great learning experience, going to practice every day, facing adversity and challenging obstacles, and throughout the journey I was getting stronger, quicker, and I started developing the teamwork and leadership traits that have benefitted me in all aspects of life. We would go on to win the Mountain Valley Football League super bowl my first and second year on the team.
In the spring and summer of 2015 I raced competitive TAG Karts with the World Karting Association. My number 77 CRG Kart turned quick laps at Sandy Hook Speedway in the 22.5 second range and reached speeds on the big endurance tracks of Summit Point Main and the Shenandoah Circuit of up to 87 MPH, side by side with men twice, even three times my 14 years of age. I loved the adrenaline and competition. I was faced with quick decision making under pressure and learned great hand eye coordination and reflexes. My racing experience helped me grow more mature, and I have developed necessary communication talents that have helped me to this day.
In the Fall of 2015 as a 9th grader, I continued with football for Middletown High School as a Freshman. The Spring and Summer of 2016, I was playing more rounds of Golf with my Father and found that Golf was the sport for me. After talking to my High School coach I learned I had to break 50 to make the team. After committing myself to golf we joined Hollow Creek Golf Club, our local golf course. The membership provided me with unlimited range access and course play. I took full advantage of the membership playing 5, 6, even 7 times a week working at my game to qualify for the High School team in my Sophomore year. After qualifying for the team I was able to start as the #6 player on a 12 player team and work my way to be the first alternate for our state tournament team, which finished second. At the end of the season I had a 9 hole average of 44.6. My second year on the team I was seated as the #2 player on the team and in the Frederick County tournament I placed 3rd shooting an even par 72. I placed inside the top ten shooting a 3 over 74 at the district tournament helping the team qualify for States. I was able to lead and enable the team to move onto the second day to compete at the 1A/2A Maryland state championship where we finished 3rd overall. I finished my season with a 9 hole average of 39. I understand my strengths and weaknesses and am working hard to better my strengths and even harder on my weaknesses.
I strive for the very best inside and outside of the classroom, being selected as a member of the National Honor Society and being an integral part of Future Business Leaders of America, where I have qualified for the state convention and have placed in the top ten two years in a row for public speaking. These organizations are preparing me for the types of challenges and opportunities that I will face in the world. My parents have supported me 100% of the way and have given me opportunities to better myself in golf through swing lessons and allowing me to compete on the MAPGA Junior Tour where I finished 21st out of 90 players. I plan on competing in AJGA events next year to gain more experience in competition play. I take pride in my work ethic and my love for the game and I am a very coachable, hardworking individual that will benefit your team in all aspects. I understand that golf is an individual sport, I’ve also realized over the years of playing team sports the importance of my individual performance and at the same time recognize the priority of being able to fit into a team. Golf and academics are two of my biggest passions and I will always be working on myself to perofrm as best as I possibly can. Thank you for your time.
