Becoming the first person at my high school to qualify for the Class A state finals as a sophomore last year was one of the best feelings I have ever has in my golfing career. I have truly developed a love and passion for the game, even when the game throws major challenges my way, I am able to learn from them and not only become a better golfer, but also a better man. This was really put to the test at State Finals, coming off a great performance, back issues which have altered my ability to play for the past 2 years came back and caused me to really struggle. However I continued to battle and finish the tournament, as it was my dream to compete at that tournament, and golf has really taught me a trait that maybe wouldn't have come to me otherwise, that trait is perseverance.
I owe a lot to the game of golf, but in college I really want to continue to excel academically, as that is where I feel I can really make a name for myself. I am a dedicated student, and challenge myself a lot in the classroom, and look to continue that at a great university. I really want to go to college to complete my pre-medicine requisites, so I can accomplish my goal of working in sports medicine. All the while focusing on golf at a great school!
