I became interested in golf when my dad would take me to play with him when I was younger. As I got older golf has become my life. I practically live at the golf course. At one time I worked at 2 courses so I could play different ones when time allowed. I love the competition with my friends and it has taught me determination. I can stay and play from sun up to sun down and practice till I figure it out.
I am currently the only person on my school's golf team. In fact, I am the golf team. I didn't play much my first year because the school didn't think I could play. But that changed the following year when they entered me in as many tournaments the school would allow. I won two tournaments that year. And qualified for our state tournament.
I am looking for a school and coach that has the passion and love for the sport that I do along with the academics and counselors that will assist me in preparing for my future after college. I want to learn and develop my skills and compete. I have never had a true coach. I have had mentors such as my school coach and my dad. I look forward to being part of a team. As for long term, maybe figure out a way to find a career doing something with golf. Whether it is coaching or turf management if that is where this leads me.
