I have been playing golf for as long as I can remember...at least since I was physically strong enough to hold a club in my hand. Yes, I had the plastic starter set of golf clubs that every beginning golfer had, but by about the age of 5, my parents started to recognize what a natural golf swing I had at such a young age and invested in a custom set of golf clubs for me for Christmas that year. I remember bugging them to take me to the driving range every chance that I could. My mom often reminds me of the twinkle I had in my eye and the ear-to-ear grin I had on my face every time I got to go to the range. She said that I would want to stay for hours, just hitting balls. I still spend hours hitting balls and developing my game, but more importantly, my passion for the game has only grown stronger. I am continually working on ways to improve my game. Montana isn't the most "golf-friendly state when it comes to the weather forecast, but unless there is a foot of snow on the ground or the temperature is below zero, you most likely can find me out on the course (just wearing a few more layers of clothing than normal). From the time I was 11 years old, I realized that I had the talent and skill to play golf at the college level, but more importantly, it was the passion and sincere love of the game that changed my dream of playing college golf into a reality, and I've never looked back. Going forward, I have focused on the things that are going to help me to achieve that goal, from traveling down to Arizona to work with a professional swing coach to traveling around the state to get tournament experience and the mental experience that goes along with competitive golf. As a collegiate golf athlete, I would not only put 110% effort into my golf game, but I would also put 110% effort into my school work. I want to be a leader both on and off the course. Playing college golf has always been my dream, but coming out of college with a great education is something that I will have for the rest of my life. I know that I would be a great asset to any golf program and a great example for my teammates.
