Personal Statement
I have played golf ever since I could walk. I always knew I had the raw talent to play golf at a high level, but I always had trouble around the greens. I worked hard to refine my short game, and it has improved immensely. I would even go as far to call it one of my strengths. Playing golf in college would be life-changing, and I look forward to embracing such a change. I have always hit the ball longer than a majority of golfers my age, but they always hit it closer from one hundred yards and in. Ever since I began to work on my short game, my scores have improved, I began to place better in tournaments, and I quickly gained enormous amounts of confidence. I have learned the characteristics needed in a team leader through playing other sports such as basketball and baseball. I work hard on keeping my grades at a high level, and I participate in FBLA, my school's quiz bowl team, and student council. I prefer a college in which I am not only tested athletically, but I am also tested mentally. I try to provide a good, Christian example for all my teammates by keeping my grades high, staying positive, and having good manners. I want to attend a college that will test me spiritually as well. I want to make everyone who helped get me to the point I am at now proud.
