I am seeking the best college fit, both for academics and golf opportunities. In terms of academics, I have an approximate GPA of 3.2/4.0 and feel that my strengths are in math and science. I'm currently considering a career in physical therapy.
I golfed on varsity my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. During my last several competitive events, my 18-hole average has been about 78-79. I think I'm a candidate with a lot of upside because I only started playing competitive golf my freshman year and so I think my ceiling is higher compared to others with similar scores at this age. I have always played multiple sports growing up and believe that exposure has helped develop coordination and athleticism that is beneficial on the course. Although I have only been playing competitively for a few years I take the sport very seriously and I'm driven to become a college golfer. I continue to see my swing improve and expect my scores to continue to drop.
Unfortunately, due to an injury I have only been able to take part in a few tournaments this summer. I should be healed up by late summer. I plan to take part in several national tournaments in the fall to make up for the missed summer. In two of the events I was able to play in I finished 1st (shot +1) and 5th (shot +4).
I also work hard at being a good teammate by helping the younger players and being a leader for the rest of my teammates.
