Throughout high school I've always wanted to balance academics and golf and excel at both in high school. I want to go to a college where I can do the same. I've always been hardworking an never give up. I use the tools that I have so that I can get better at golf. For example, I use golf stat lab to track my statistics and help me with my golf game. I practice golf for more than ten hours per week. I utilize my time so I can get the most out of my practice. If there is a party and all my friends are going, I won't go because I know that I need to get better at golf or academics. I also work really hard academically as well. I've taken many AP and honors courses throughout high school. On all of my AP tests I have received a two or better.
The best piece of advice someone has given me is from my high school golf coach. He always tells the team that no matter how poorly you're playing, never give up. In the last tournament I played in, I was having swing problems and knew that I wasn't going to win. However, I didn't get down on my self and give up. I played the best that I could and finished in fifth. I'm a good candidate for a team because I don't give up.
Another reason why I am a good candidate for a team is that I get along with by teammates very well. I have never gotten into a fight with another teammate on the golf team. When someone asks help with their swing, I am the first one to respond. I always have a positive outlook even if I'm playing bad. Also, playing for a team also helps me perform better on the golf course because there is something that energizes my game and gets me pumped up.
