Personal Statement
My name is Brendan Villnave and I am currently a junior at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. I started playing golf when I was about five and have a big passion and love for the game. I work hard to keep my grades at an honor roll level and have earned six scholar athlete awards over the past few years. My goal is to continue to play golf competitively in college while focusing on a study in computer science.
I play on my high school golf team, as well as the CNY Jr. PGA, and compete in several state tournaments such as the Post Standard, the CNY Jr. PGA state championship, and have competed in The Junior Invitational at Onondaga Country Club. Since I live in Syracuse New York it isn’t the easiest trying to play golf year round. However I do everything possible to keep my game at a high level and keep myself in shape. I work with my swing coach, Marty Nowicki, at the Turning Stone golf dome over the winter months and work out several days a week in the weight room at my high school. I am very dedicated to doing my personal best at both school and golf. I believe I can be a strong asset to a team. I am very coachable and try to learn from situations and mistakes with the best attitude possible. I believe in being positive and encouraging to my teammates so that we can do our best as a team. I would put my personal best effort forward for my team every day and hope that a college coach can see these qualities in me.
