Personal Statement
I am commited to excellence. Every time I practice, I do so with a purpose, with the goal of becoming the best golfer possible. I practice from green to tee, making my short game the strength of my game. My bunker game in particular, is strong as I get the ball up and down 70 percent of the time from there. Because of my confidence in my short game, I am a very aggressive iron player and driver of the golf ball. In an effort to gain more distance, I work out six times a week. I was named second team all – conference this year and also team MVP. I have been captain for two years now and have changed the culture of the program. Before I arrived, the team struggled to win one even one match in a season of. As a freshman I lead the team to its first division title in three decades and as a sophomore led the team to states for the first time in nearly four decades. The statistics are for the whole entire 2013, 2014, and 2015, including the season and the summer. Recently I tied for 1st in a high school golf tournament, shooting a 75. Off the course, I am a part of Boy Scouts- star rank, take part in the ACE Program (Architect Construct Engineer) and the DECA business club at my school. I've played sports since I was little and I just recently decided to drop soccer and basketball to focus on getting better at golf. My preferred major is accounting. As a well- rounded student- athlete, I feel as though I would fit in just about anywhere.
