Personal Statement
My name is Cole Skach and I am a student-athlete at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Reno, NV. I am currently 16 years old and I have a heavy interest in playing golf at the collegiate level. Golf is a vital part of my life and I am working harder everyday to become the best. I am currently enrolled in tournaments throughout the entire summer as well as the upcoming fall so that I can better myself and so that I can compete against the best golfers across the nation. These tournaments include the FCG World Championship in San Diego along with the FCG National Tour Spring Championship in Southern California. By participating in these tournaments I believe that I can become one of the best student-athletes in the nation due to my determination and my eagerness to learn. As a sophomore at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, I was a key part of the Nevada State Golf Championship team as well as a honors student. Bishop Manogue has been one of best high school golf teams in Nevada for the past five years and one of the top academic schools as well. This season, our school was undefeated and went on to win the State Championship by 18 strokes at the PGA tour course called Montreux. I want to highlight these achievements to show where I come from and to show that I am a team player. I believe I am the best candidate for your team because I am a very hardworking, determined player that doesn't let the little things get to me. I am a team player and always want to do what gives the team the best chance to win. I am far different from other recruits because my ability to adapt and overcome in vital situations. In my life I like to keep an organized balance between education and sports so I can get the best out of the oppurtunities that arise in the future.
