Personal Statement

I am interested in pursuing the field of medicine and playing golf at the collegiate level. I have come to the game of golf through my mom's family. My grandfather was an accomplished amateur golfer at the time. My uncle, Bobby Impaglia was on the PGA tour and now is the Director of Golf at a golf club in Boca Raton Florida. They both have had a passion for the game and I have learned to enjoy it as well. I have always been an athlete but it wasn't until eighth-grade that I decided to compete in the game of golf. I have been working with Bob Impaglia for 3 years and have reduced my average score 20 points. I currently shoot 39 on our home course. My plan this summer is to compete in many of the regional junior PGA tournaments to further develop my skill sets. My current GPA is a 3.9 I have maintained honor roll status and am enrolled in honors courses on track to take AP courses in Biology. What sets me apart from other athletes is my attitude and integrity. I am able to compete and keep my composure. This a very important attribute to have with the game of golf. I am excited to see where my pursuit of golf will take me at the high school and college level.

This was a 36 hole, one day tournament. Tied for 8th my scores were 86, 79. Being unfamiliar with the course, the first round was not where I wanted to be. I came back in the second round working on my course management skills. I was able to birdie 2 holes and par the more difficult holes. It was a great experience as I have never competed in a 36 hole one day tournament.

Focusing on Swing techniques and Course Management

I have been working with 2 swing coaches over the past 6 years. Since April 2016, I have increased my time with the coaches resulting in a 71, 78, 82 in a summer AJGA Tournament as well as accomplishing low scorer on my High School Varsity Golf Team with a 34, 35, 36, 38, 39. I plan on competing in additional AJGA Tournaments in the Spring of 2017. I continue to increase my drive accuracy and distance.
