September 2021Personal Statement
Growing up I have been a multi sport athlete focusing mainly on soccer and hockey. It wasn’t until Covid hit in Spring 2020, forcing the shut down of all other sports for me, allowing hours and days at the course and awakening the deep passion I have for golf. In late Fall 2020 I entered my 1st of many competitive golf tournaments. Finishing 2nd place (70-76) in July 2021 at the SOPGA Dublin Junior Open, 7th place (71-73) at GolfWeek University of Kentucky-Big Blue and 8th place (73-73) at GolfWeek Junior Open at Purgatory in October 2021, have been the highlights of my short competitive tournaments to date.
After the Fall of 2021 where I continued to juggle being the starting Varsity Goalkeeper and Captain for my High School soccer team, while maintaining a steady stream of competitive golf tournaments, I have decided to forgo my Senior soccer season and focus solely on Golf. Although challenging, this year has reinforced to me the important skills of prioritizing school, time management and disciple.
I believe I will bring dedication, leadership, ability, desire to grow, unparalleled work ethic and commitment to the right program. Ultimately, I desire to be a part of a program where I can grow as a player and student, make an immediate impact for the team and obtain my academic goals.
