Hi Coaches,
I am not the normal golf athlete you would look at on this site (this is my 5th year playing and 2019-2020 school year canceled due to C-19 and my Junior year is when I decided I wanted to play collegiate) so I ask you take a moment to learn more about me.
I was first a hockey player. I have never played before but my neighbor was a hockey player and I learned to ice skate in Tahoe on vacation with my family. I believe I was about 7 or 8 years old, it was 3rd grade I think. I really liked hockey and decided to try out for the travel team and made it. I was in travel hockey until the 7th grade when I decided I wanted to take up golf. I never played completive golf, just it around with my dad, but my parents said I had a God given talent so started to golf in the 7th grade.
I play at Southmoore Highschool in Moore, OK, I am the one bag for varsity.; this is my Senior year. Freshman year, I not only made the Varsity team, I was two or three bag. Sophomore year, one or two bag on varsity and I was the lowest scoring average golfer. Junior year, one bag however we never played one tournament due to C-19.
In less then 4 years I have gone from scoring in the 100's to 70's. 70, 73 are my best scores thus far (69) and I have averaged 74 in tourney's. I'm currently working with a swing coach.
Given the chance, I'm moldable and a good student. I've taken Pre-AP classes all of my high-school years with a 4.0 my Junior year and my current weighted GPA is 3.67.
Thank you,
Mason Sebrant
