My name is Jacob Anderson. I am 17 years old and I am a junior at Pine-Richland High School. I have been involved and playing golf for about 8 years now. I played on the Pine-Richland Varsity team my sophomore and junior year. During my sophomore year, I played as a varsity alternate. I was just gaining some varsity experience so I could succeed in my upcoming Junior and Senior years. Heading into playoffs during my sophomore season, our team thought we could do well in playoffs, but fell short of making the finals. I set a goal after my sophomore season, and that goal was to contribute to the team making it to finals and possibly winning. I worked on my swing a lot, but mostly my short game. During my Junior season, my team found a great amount of success, going undefeated in section play, and I started in all but two matches. I realize what hard work does and how much it pays off, and I hope to continue my success in college. I anticipate to work day in and day out in the gym getting stronger, on the range working on ball striking, and most importantly, on the putting green. I consider my classwork as important as my golf game, and it reflects in my test scores. I have a 4.13 GPA, and I plan on continuing to take honors and AP classes for the rest of high school. My goal is to push myself in the classroom just as hard as I would on the golf course.
