Personal Statement
My name is Jackson Holman. I am a Senior at Park City High School in Park City, Utah. I have played golf left handed since the time I could walk. I very much want to play Division I college golf when I graduate from high school. I know that will require good grades, and a high level of golf.
I began the 2018 year in southern California in my first national level tournament – the 11thFCG National Championship in December 2017. My next tournament was a 3rd place finish in the AJGA Preview event at Carlton Oaks in southern California. I spent my summer playing in the Utah Junior Golf Association and the Utah PGA Jr. I was the Utah PGA Jr Player of the Year (15-16 division) and the Utah PGA Jr overall Player of the Year (runner up). Because of my finishes I won entry into the Utah Open. In addition, I was 7thin the Salt Lake City Amateur in June 2018. I won 4 tournaments during 2018 and played for the Utah team against southern Nevada in The Border War in October.
My goals for 2019 are to continue my GPA success of the past 2 years, commit for a scholarship to a Division I college golf program and WIN local and national events!!
To accomplish my goals I will continue to work hard at school and prepare for and take the college entrance exams. I will have an extensive national and local golf schedule. I am also now being coached by Boyd Summerhays of Scottsdale, Arizona. I know this is an important year for me and I am fully committed to the effort.
