Personal Statement
My goal is to play college golf and attend a college or university that challenges me academically. I enjoy working at the game daily, and like the camaraderie of playing on a team. I know being strong academically is key to my future and I work hard to balance maintaining a high GPA (3.96) with my enthusiasm for practicing my golf game. I was proud to be inducted into the National Honor Society this past school year.
My tournament scoring average over my last 7 tournaments is a 74. Just recently I shot a 2 under par 70 finishing T-1 out of 110 players in an opening season regional high school tournament, which included most of Virginia's top junior golfers. I followed that up with another T-1 the next day, carding a 73 in a regional tournament. This summer I qualified for the 2013 Virginia Junior Stroke Play Championship, shooting a one over par 73. Also, this summer I played in the Virginia State Amateur Qualifier, carding a 75. I have played in 18 regional and state tournaments in the 2013 Spring-Summer season, most of them on challenging courses playing from college distances and ratings.
I believe sportsmanship and how you carry yourself on the golf course has an impact on your success in your career or life in general. I was proud and honored to have won the 2011-2012 Lindsey Ellis Sportsman of the Year Award for the Plantations Junior Golf Tour.
